The Missouri State Orthopaedic Association will host its 40th Annual Meeting on May 29-30, 2009 at the Chase Park Plaza in St. Louis. We are proud to announce several exciting events at this year’s milestone meeting:
- All Past Presidents of MSOA have been invited to celebrate MSOA’s 40th Anniversary at a special luncheon on Saturday, May 30.
- Our Program Chair, Dirk Alander, M.D., has prepared a premier slate of experts with special emphasis on practice management and Orthopaedic best practices that qualify for up to 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits, including:
- Advances on meniscal tears in the knee by Matt Matava, M.D., team physician for the St. Louis Cardinals.
- Osteoporosis for the Orthopedic Physician by Kathy Diemer, M.D., director of Bone Health at Washington University.
- Current concepts and treatment of Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis by Dr. J. Eric Gordon, M.D. of Washington University.
- Tibial Plateau Fracture care by Brett D. Crist, M.D. of University of Missouri.
- In addition, AAOS General Counsel Rick Peterson will be present to discuss recent changes by the U.S. Department of Justice impacting relationships between industry representatives and physicians.
- Steven Spewak, a Missouri attorney specializing in physician risk management, will discuss estate planning and practice asset protection. As an added benefit to MSOA members, every physician attending this lecture will receive a risk management monograph for an extra four (4.0) hours of Category 1 CME free of charge.
- MSOA will host its 6th Annual Legislative Reception on Friday, May 29, with honored members of the Missouri General Assembly.
